Meeting was called to order at 6:05 by Nancy Naumann. Officers and Committee Chairs were asked to please get files and writeups prepared to hand over.

VP: Earl Touchstone –The budget meeting to set next year’s budget will be held on 7:00 pm, June 16 at the Naumanns. There are open positions for 2 more volunteers from the membership to sit on this committee. Senior gifts (blankets with name and instrument) will be presented at the concert, as well as director cards and thank you gifts (outback gift certificates). The Harts will be getting a more tangible thank you gift this year.

Secretary: Cary and Nancy Drott – minutes of 3/11/08 approved as posted.

Parent Fundraising: Leigh Meineke – Chick-Fil-A breakfast sold for 4 weeks. We made $490, which is not quite as much as we’d hoped but did fund an additional scholarship. Thanks to all who helped. Leigh recommends that we continue selling Chick-Fil-A next year, in part to stake a claim to lunch sales should they be permitted.

Treasurer Susan Croley – Last chance to get expenses turned in for reimbursement. Also, please cash any band checks that you might have. Susan is tying up loose end and wrapping things up so that the books can be audited before the new treasurer takes over. Need 2 people to audit the books this summer.

Committee Reports

Scholarship Genny Tassin – 3 scholarships of $500 each will be awarded tonight at the concert.

Old Business

Band Banquet Tate Young – expenses were ~$5900 plus security. $2 per student to be reimbursed by SBISD.

New Business

Volunteers needed – 2 for budget committee, 2 for audit committee

Frosh band camp June 2,3,4. Will need help with final day’s lunch. Contact Leigh

Colorguard Night this Friday at Taco C. Put your receipt in the bowl for a fundraiser.

Election and Installation of Officers

The Slate was presented, there were no nominations from the floor. The following were accepted by acclamation and installed:

The complete list of committee chairs is attached. The positions of Parent Fundraising and Student Fundraising remain unfilled for now.

Nancy passed the gavel to Leigh.

Summer band starts Aug. 4.

Band Rush is tentatively set for Aug 16.

Outback Dinner tentatively set for Aug 20.

School starts Aug 26.
